Baby, baby, I've been so sad since you've been
gone
Way back to New York City where you do belong
Honey, I miss your two tongue kisses, legs
wrapped around me tight
If I ever get back to Fun City, girl, I'm
going to make you scream all night
Honey, honey, call me on the telephone
I know you're moving out to Hollywood with
your can of tasty foam
All those beat up friends of mine got to get
you in their books
And lead guitars and movie stars get their
toe beneath your hood
Yeah, you're a starfucker, starfucker, starfucker,
starfucker, star
Yeah, a starfucker, starfucker, starfucker,
starfucker, star
A starfucker, starfucker, starfucker,
starfucker, star
Yeah I heard about your Polaroids, now that's
what I call obscene
Your tricks with fruit was kind of cute, I
bet you keep your pussy clean
Honey, I miss your two tongue kisses, legs
wrapped around me tight
If I ever get back to New York, girl, I'm
going to make you scream all night
Yeah, you're a starfucker, starfucker, starfucker,
starfucker, star
Yeah, a starfucker, starfucker, starfucker,
starfucker, star
A starfucker, starfucker, starfucker,
starfucker, star
Yes you are, yes you are, yes you are
Yeah, Ali McGraw got mad with you for giving
head to Steve McQueen
Yeah, you and me we made a pretty pair balling
through the silver screen
Honey, I'm open to anything, I don't know
where to draw the line
Yeah, I'm making bets that you're going to
get John Wayne before he dies
Yeah, you're a starfucker, starfucker, starfucker,
starfucker, star
Yeah, a starfucker, starfucker, starfucker,
starfucker, star
A starfucker, starfucker, starfucker,
starfucker, star
Yes you are
A starfucker, starfucker, starfucker,
starfucker, star - ah yeah
Yeah, a starfucker, starfucker, starfucker,
starfucker, star - ah yeah
Yeah, a starfucker, starfucker, starfucker,
starfucker, star - whoo!
Yeah, a starfucker, starfucker, starfucker,
starfucker, starfucker, starfucker, starfucker,
starfucker, starfucker, starfucker, starfucker,
starfucker, star - yes you are, yes you are
Ah... ooh!
Ooh!... give us a kiss
Whoo! With a twist
Come on, little girl
Give us a whirl
TrackTalk
Starfucker was about the last (song we
recorded for the album).
-
Mick Taylor, 1973
Starfucker is all Mick's (song).
-
Keith Richards, 1973
That's the only song (on the album) with any
slice of cynicism.
-
Mick Jagger, 1973
People always give me this bit about us being
a macho band and I always ask them to give me examples... Under My Thumb...
Yes, but they always say Starfucker, and THAT just happened to be
about someone I knew.
-
Mick Jagger, 1975
(Atlantic Records have) tried to balls about
a bit with this latest album. They've given us a lot of trouble over
Starfucker
for all the wrong reasons - I mean, they even got down to saying that Steve
McQueen would pass an injunction against the song because of the line about
him. So we just sent a tape of the song to him and of course he okayed
it. It was just a hustle though. Obstacles put in our way.
-
Keith Richards, 1973
I suppose we ask for it if we record things
like that. Christ, I don't do these things intentionally. I just wrote
it... That's real, and if girls can do that, I can certainly write about
it, because it's what I see. I'm not saying all women are star-fuckers,
but I see an awful lot of them, and so I wrote a song called that. I mean,
people show themselves up by their own behaviour, and just to describe
it doesn't mean you're anti-feminist.
