Say looka here, want to see my gun?
It's a Uzi and it packs a lot of punch
It sure is loud, I got it fixed
You want to feel, you want to touch this little
bitch?
I want to testify
It's a crazy world out there
I want to tell you now
It's a brutal world out there
I'm just a mother of a man
I've got the stopper in my hand
Judge and jury help me please
Ain't going to get down on my knees
Oh no
God help me now
You know my wife, she don't feel safe
Since we had a lot of trouble near our place
These kids are poor, I know it's hard
But why'd they have to do it in their own
backyard?
I want to testify
That it's a crazy world out there
I don't have to tell you about it
It's a barbaric world out there
I'm just a mother of a man
I want to take the witness stand
Judge and jury help me please
The sirens sound (cry), the streets all bleed
I'm just a mother of a man
Just a mother of a man
Oh yeah
I want to testify
That it's a crazy, crazy, crazy world out
there
I want to tell you now
That it's a barbaric world out...
I'm just a mother of a man
Here I stand, here I stand
I'm just a mother of a man
Yeah mother of a man
Oh yeah
Oh... all right
Mother of a man
All right
Oh yeah
TrackTalk
Mother of a Man was a reaction to the L.A. riots by someone whose response was to go and buy a gun, which a lot of friends of mine seemed to be doing. They'd go and buy a gun and join the Hollywood Gun Club and get their marksmanship up to scratch. I saw all these people doing gun practice when I did a picture (Freejack) down there. I hadn't used guns in a long while and I needed to look the part for the movie... (G)uns are not something I want in my life.
